Online Databases for Cardholders

The following databases are available to all Nassau residents, including those who have no home library but do have a State Mandated Access Card (S.M.A.C). The links presented on this page are intended for S.M.A.C. cardholders and may not work for cardholders with a home library; you can find your libraries link by visiting your home libraries website. Please note that the Co-Central Library Databases on this page are paid for by member libraries in this system and are available to all Nassau residents. New York Virtual Electronic Library (N.O.V.E.L.) databases are provided to all New York State residents.

      Primary Searchcontains full text for more than 80 popular elementary school magazines. Includes the Encyclopedia of Animals and the Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia. Provided by the New York Virtual Electronic Library
    • Searchasaurus
      Searchasaurus is an easy way for young researchers to experience online searching. It is an animated interface with a dinosaur theme that encourages students to develop basic search methodologies. Searchasaurus offers Lexile limiters (reading level) to aid in student research.
